Let the Outdoor Season Begin
June has seeing more of our time than ever being spent playing jazz in the great outdoors, and July is shaping up the same way.
Aside from the usual round of graduation parties, we’re seeing more special anniversary and birthday parties becoming outdoor social events. Weather has been (mostly) cooperative and, in cases where it hasn’t, good advance planning has paid off. Neither temperature nor soggy conditions has resulted in a disappointing event. From private homes in the Twin Cities to the western suburbs, people have been celebrating, and our trio or quartet has been on hand to provide the background music and energy that’s entertained the crowds without inhibiting their socializing and partying.
Musicians who play with Metro Retro are appearing around town now at the jazz festival locations, either with their own ensembles or as side musicians with other well known and respected groups. We still have available dates through August. Give us a call for a no obligation discussion about your event and how we might contribute to its success.
We’ll be kicking off our fall schedule on September 10, when the trio plays for the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra’s after-concert reception on opening night.
Have a great summer!
