2011 in Review

The demand for the trio, quartet, and quintet versions of Metro Retro was strong throughout  2011.

The band played for weddings, private parties, corporate events, and gala fundraisers, performing for audiences ranging in size from 8 (an intimate dinner party in a private home) to 12,000 (a corporate world-wide meeting at the Convention Center.) We already have bookings as far ahead as November, and it looks like Metro Retro will be  busy during 2012.

One of the band’s appearances was at a two day corporate meeting at Wisconsin Dells. The band teamed with an organizational consultant to demonstrate how a professional jazz trio’s successful performance is analogous to how planning and teamwork functions within a corporate environment. The feed back from both the employees in attendance and the corporation’s executives was very positive in terms of the relevance of the message and the creative way in which it was delivered.
