History

Metro Retro began in 2008, inspired by an idea to assemble a band made up of top flight professional musicians who would come together to perform at fund raising galas, corporate events, and private parties.

It was decided that the band would focus on three basic objectives:

• To concentrate on playing for events where the client felt that music would play some role in contributing to the event’s success.
• To tailor the band’s size and style to the needs of each event without sacrificing musical quality.
• To draw from a core of  respected musicians who adhere to the highest set of quality, performance and professional standards.

It took almost a year to decide on a name, accumulate arrangements, and identify the musicians that appeared to be the right fit for the band’s objectives. Rehearsals began in earnest in March of 2008 and the band made its official debut in January, 2009, at the Minneapolis/Bloomington Hilton’s American Ballroom.

The group has steadily gained momentum and has been playing high visibility corporate and fund raising gala events at country clubs and special event locations around the Twin Cities, as well as private parties in homes and smaller venues.
